Just a simple question. Are you going to dress up to hand out candy at your house? I am not going to dress up but I was thinking about putting Lani in her costume and sitting on the porch with her so she can hand out the candy. She is too little to go out trick or treating but I thought she might have fun just putting the candy in the other children’s buckets. Let me know if you are going to dress up or not.
What the hell is going on at Halloween? Have you looked at some of the costumes they are putting out for our little girls now? The French Maid, the Naughty Nurse? I don’t understand what is going on with this. I have a 17 year old and there is no way she would be wearing these costumes that they are gearing towards 10-12 year olds. What amazes me is that people have to wonder what is happening with our little girls of today? From the time they are 6 or so they are looking at people like Britney Spears or Lindsey Lohan. Oh yeah, those are role models, a bad mom and a druggie. What happened to little girls wanting to be nurses or princesses or teachers? I am so sad at the state of the world when society tells our little girls that it is ok to dress trashy and that is what is expected of them. Do you know who’s fault it is? Not the company that makes the costumes but the parent that buys them. The company only makes them because they sell. If someone was not out there buying them, we would not be having this conversation.
Our children grow up fast enough, don’t you want to do everything you can to let them hold on to their innocence for as long as possible? Do you think dressing them in French Maid outfit is doing that? I hope a lot of people read this and get mad because that is what we have to do, get mad. Nothing is going to change unless we force it. Fads come and go, I am hoping that this one will go away but unfortunately something tells me it will only get worse. For all of those parents that find this as disturbing as I do, stick to your guns and don’t give in. Your child will be better for it and thank you when she grows up to be a happy, productive part of society.

Fall is here, so the long full skirts are out…. save them for next summer/spring. Color pencil skirts are becoming a hit, and jean is super cute too, but let’s talk about the basic black, we all own, for now……
A classic pencil skirt should be worn at knee length or just below, not above the knees! And if you choose to wear a skirt above the knees, please do not pair it with panty hose, unless you’re wearing it with a pair of knee high boots, which still, can only be pulled by “certains”……. should not be attempted by average Joe!
Keep it knee length, preferably no panty hose, and a really hot with a pair of knee high boots. Make sure it’s form fitting. Very basic… no pockets or embelishments. If you are reaaly daring…… pair it with some fishnet stockings
Here a just a few of the costumes that were at the party last night. I am highlighting the homemade ones because I think they take a little more imagination than just going in the store and picking them out.
Now I know we have some pretty talented people that read this blog. I want to see those costumes. Send me a pic and I will post it on here. Please keep it clean nobody wants to see your private areas, that is why they are called PRIVATE. I am excited to see if any of you made the Spartan costumes. I know I have had a lot of hits on it and it would be cool to see some of them. Have a safe night and designate a driver please.

Just wanted to give you a little timer to let you know how long you had left to get that costume together. Don’t panic, it will be ok. Although if you are like me your party is tomorrow and not on Wednesday so you really only have one day. So now would be a good time to panic.
I found this site that shows you how to make you very own Spartan costume. They have really cool step by step instructions on how to make each part of the costume even the helmet out of cardboard and it looks cool. Just please stay away from the speedo unless you are Brad Pitt or Edward Norton, then by all means go for it. I think this would be a big hit at the party. Make sure you walk around and yell, “For tonight, we dine in hell!” and let’s not forget my favorite, “THIS… IS… SPARTA!” Have fun!!!!
I admit it I have suspenders. Mainly girls are wearing them and pulling them off well I might add. Men, however, unless you are Justin Timberlake should not wear them. Men can not wear suspenders well without looking old and so not cool, unless it is with a suit of course. These are getting really mixed reviews and like very thing in fashion some people like them and some people don’t.
Have fun and be daring, that is what fashion is all about. If you like it go with it, just don’t be surprised if other people wonder what the hell was going through your mind when you walked out of the house this morning.
