Just checking in with you guys. Nothing too much happening in my little corner of the world right now. I have an interview with Tampa Bay 10 news tonight about the Our Precious Gift website I have started, so that should be exciting. I hope I am able to get a copy of the interview and I will post it up here. If you have not seen it yet, check it out.
We are planning trip to
We are all so excited my brother and his wife got their house. They are going to be moved out of the apartment and into the house by the 24th. We are so excited. The baby is coming in March and they wanted to get out of the apartment before Keagan came and looks like they are going to make it. They move in the same weekend as the baby shower so that works out perfect. Instead of moving all of the baby stuff twice they will just take it to the new house. Mom said when we get there her and I are going to looking for some discount furniture to put in the house. Nothing fancy but no crap either. I am so excited. Lani and I go up there in 2 weeks.
Well the Christmas holidays are over but the family is still here so the eating continues. My pants are starting to get tight and we will have a week to go. I will definitely have to invest in some diet pills after the New Year. Yesterday I discovered the joys of Spam musubi, oh heaven. I ate three of them and Lani loves them too. I will be adding this it our list of quick foods to make.
Just checking in with you guys to see if everyone has their Christmas shopping done. I am almost done, I just have to get a couple of things for the family we adopted for the holidays. The little boy wants a skate board so I am off to Toys R Us tomorrow. Tonight is Matt’s work Christmas dinner so I have to get all dressed up tonight. I am so excited.
My brother mailed our Christmas presents today. I am hoping for gift card so I can replace our faucet in the kitchen. It is not really old but we are remodeling the kitchen after the holidays and it would be really nice to get a cool Hansgrohe faucet. We are replacing the cabinets that have been in the kitchen sine the house was build and we are doing it in stages. We have completed the top cabinets all the way around and next it is the bottom. Those are harder because once you pull them out you have not sink and no kitchen until it is done and I have not been able to part with my kitchen.
Matt is going to Vegas in January and we are trying to figure something so that I can join him in Vegas for the weekend. I have never been and I think it would be so cool to stay in one of the famous Vegas hotels
you always see on TV. I am not a gambler but I would still like to go into one of the casinos and pull on the slot machine just once. Having the little one makes it hard to just pick up and go but we are going to give it a shot.
I have to say when this came into my e-mail box I almost just hit forward to everyone in my address book but then I stopped and decided to look it up on snopes. I was glad I did. I, like most of you, are touched my the thought of sending one more Christmas card out in the hopes it would reach someone who has given so much for us, an American solider. I was saddened by the fact that this is simply not the case. According to Snopes this “extra Christmas card” will be thrown away unopened.
If you know of a program that we could send cards to and they would actually get to a solider please let me know and I will me more than happy to post it on the site and hopefully get everyone who reads it to send out a card. During this time of the year our hearts are filling with generosity and sometimes we just do not know what to do with it. Please share you ways of giving back during this time of the year. Below please see the email that was forwarded to me.
When doing your Christmas cards this year, take one card and send it to this address. If we pass this on and everyone sends one card, think of how many cards these wonderful special people who have sacrificed so much would get. A Great Idea!!!
When you are making out your Christmas card list this year, please include the following:
A Recovering American soldier
c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Avenue,NW
If you approve of the idea, please pass it on to your e-mail list.
We are still eating ham, ham and more ham. Several of Matt’s relatives are coming to
to get me through the holiday season. I love Hawaiian food it is always so fresh and light and you can eat so much and not have to worry “too much” about the calories.
I was talking to Tanya today and let me tell you for someone to be so small that girl can put away more food than a truck driver on a long haul. She was telling me all of the Armenian food her mom and aunt are going to cook and she said she was going to have do a colon cleanse by the time dinner was done. That girl is just crazy sometimes.
